Undiscovered

Ever heard of a new actor named Steven Strait??? Sounds familiar??? Hmmm, I dunno,....maybe he'll be added to my list here :) He's done movies Sky High, Undiscovered and The Covenant. He's also the lead singer of Tribe. Last night I watched Undiscovered mainly because I like the storyline. During the course of the movie I got "smitten", so as to quote Steven's line in the movie,...hehe. I saw Sky High first and thought it's the first time I saw this actor in a movie but I was wrong, now I know why he's familiar. I've watched Undiscovered and Sky High vaguely realizing I've seen him first in The Covenant! He's just started acting last 2005, started out as a model,....story sounds familiar? Same as Channing Tatum's story!!!!

........and, yeah, did I say he's just 21??? :) :)

Coach Carter

I just got a copy of Coach Carter yesterday and i watched it last night. It's a movie released by Paramount Pictures last January of 2005 with Samuel Jackson leading the cast of the movie. It's a film that has it's lessons to teach most importantly among young people to live their dreams and to believe that they can do more with what they have. A plus would be of course, you get to see Channing on the sidelines as Jason Lyle, either shirtless or sweaty from playing basketball :) He plays this kid whose dad is in jail. Lesson to teach: with people knowing your dad is in prison doesn't really necessarily mean that it explains who you are.

Each character has it's own stories in life, Lyle is just one of those kids who must dream and live their dreams because they can do more, it just takes discipline and perseverance.

Inspired by the true story of controversial Richmond, California basketball coach Ken Carter (Jackson), who received both high praise and staunch criticism when he made national news for benching his entire team undefeated team for poor academic performance. Tension mounted as the Richmond High Oilers faced the upcoming basketball championship. The town was wild with excitement over their undefeated team and the bleachers were filled with cheering fans for every game. No one could imagine that on January 4, 1999 the community would erupt in dissention and so many lives would change forever when coach Carter padlocked the gym, refusing the players access for failing to keep up their grades.

With the players, the parents, and the community rallying to get the team back on the court, Carter must overcome the obstacles of his environment and show the young men a future that stretches beyond gangs, drugs, prison and even basketball.

The movie star has joined forces with website www.GreenDimes.com in an effort to promote environmental efforts to prevent the trees used for junk mail letters and envelopes from being chopped down. He says, "For an estimated dime a day they can stop 70 per cent of the junk mail that comes to your house. "It's very simple, easy to do, great gift to give, I've actually signed up my entire family. Meanwhile, Oscar nominee Mark Wahlberg is set to reunite with The Departed co-star Matt Damon in a new film based on the story of boxer Micky Ward. Hollywood bible Variety reports he will play the headline role in The Fighter, with Damon set to play his half-brother Dickie. Nicknamed 'Irish', Ward rose to prominence towards the end of his career when he landed a fight with Canadian Arturo Gatti. The 2002 fight has been described as among the best ever staged, with a brutal contest ending when Ward won on points. Subsequent rematches entrenched the fight in folklore, with Ward's ability to pick himself up off the canvass making the boxer a candidate for the Hollywood treatment, although the film is also expected to include his early years. Now Wahlberg is set to take on the mantle of the underdog champ, with Requiem for a Dream director Darren Aronofsky said to be in talks to direct.Filming could begin as soon as this summer and will follow Ward's rise to fame from his early days in Lowell, Massachusetts to his eventual world title.

William Bradley Pitt was born December 18, 1963, in Shawnee, Oklahoma. The oldest of three children, Pitt was an extremely active child while attending Kickapoo High School. Although Pitt was always a movie buff, he decided to attend the University of Missouri in Columbia, Missouri, to study journalism with a focus in advertising, and live the regular life of a college frat boy. Matthew Paige Damon was born on October 8, 1970, in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
